Mr. Shane "Profe Tomás" Harvey

Hello, I'm Profe Tomás or simply Profe for short. I teach Kinder, First, Second and 6th grade Spanish as a Second Language here at Gibraltar Area School District. I also work with English learners in the lower elementary grades. I manage Gibraltar Elementary's Public Relations, am part of the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) team, and am part of the Technology Coordination Team.

I finished my undergraduate degrees at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, graduating in May of 2009 and December of 2011. I graduated from University of Wisconsin-Oskhosh with a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with Bilingual and English as a Second Language licences. Immediately following graduation in 2011, I was offered a teaching position at a small, private, bilingual school in the Dominican Republic, teaching Computer Science. Though I truly enjoyed living and working in the DR, I came to Gibraltar a year later, in the fall of 2013. I have come to enjoy being a part of the Gibraltar Area Community and working with the students, staff, and administration here.

During my summers, I travel to Switzerland with my wife and two children, where we enjoy administrating an Elementary Summer Program. It is on this Swiss campus, years ago, that I developed my love for working with elementary students and all of the reason that I accepted the opportunity to teach Spanish and ESL to Gibraltar Elementary Students.

Paz, Amor, Felicidad, y Sol,

~Profe Tomás
