• Mrs. Young

I am Rebecca Young and have been a special education teacher at Gibraltar Area Schools for 19 years.

Teaching has provided me with the opportunity to learn and challenge myself on a daily basis; it is my goal to provide the same opportunity to all students.

I earned a degree in education from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater in 1995, where I specialized in the instruction of students with severe cognitive disabilities.

I began working in the Gibraltar school district as a teacher for students with cognitive disabilities in 1996. In 2009, I attended Silver Lake College and added cross-categorical and emotional behavioral disabilities special education to my professional license. Through ongoing practices and continuing education, I continue to work toward my goal of challenging a variety of students with research-based best practice.

Taking pictures of flowers is one of my favorite activities.  Door County is a beautiful place to live!
