Mrs. Hoffman-Sixth-Grade Reading and ELA Teacher
  • ,

Well, hello. I’m glad that you came to explore Gibraltar and me, as a teacher in the district. I am very grateful to be at Gibraltar teaching so many of my neighbors' children. Thank you for your confidence.

For the school year of 2022-2023, I will teach Reading and ELA (speaking, writing, and language skills) to all sixth-grade students. Students in my classes will have online classrooms in Google Classroom as well as the physical classroom, 222.

    My Experience:

The 2022-2023 school year will be my eighth year as a full-time teacher at Gibraltar. I spent one year prior to these years as a substitute teacher with the district. Although I have been teaching at Gibraltar for seven years, my experience as a teacher stretches well beyond my time at Gibraltar. I would say that I have always been a teacher. I have a voracious appetite for learning new things, and I love to share what I learn with others. Education empowers and enriches.

In addition to my traditional teaching positions, I have taught all ages, including preschool and adults returning for high school equivalency diplomas. I have taught nutrition to children at community sites through the University Extension System. I have also taught gifted and talented students in a program with Carthage College in Kenosha. Before moving to Door County in 2009, I was a Title I Reading and Math instructor for the Racine Unified School District. My formal education and experience have given me a wonderful perspective on the breadth of education.

I am the proud mom of three boys. All three of my sons have graduated from Gibraltar and attend college within the U.W. system. They fly from the nest so quickly.
