English 10 Honors
Honors English 10 extends English 10 by requiring student performances to meet higher quality standards by substituting more sophisticated literature, additional or modified assessments, and a more rigorous curriculum. Students continue the development process with increased independence and college-and-career-preparatory instruction. Students will extend their ability to read and understand complex literary structure, recognize literary devices, and continue to advance their individual reading and comprehension skills. Students will compose and edit more complex works of creative, rhetorical, analytical, and technical writing for a variety of target audiences. In addition, they will continue to advance their grammar usage, vocabulary development, critical thinking skills, and oral communication abilities.
